Leader On The Lake – Brand Identity
"Leaders On The Lake” is a regional media initiative built around celebrating leadership, creativity, and community stories in Lake Charles and SWLA. Originally conceived as a podcast, the project evolved into a broader multimedia platform featuring interviews, case studies, and good-news storytelling. I was brought in to design the brand identity — specifically the logo system — to visually anchor this growing platform in a way that was modern, memorable, and deeply tied to its regional context.

DISCOVERY & CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT


I started by studying the natural landmarks, culture, and symbolism associated with Lake Charles and the greater SWLA region. Waves, water, and sun motifs kept emerging in my research, alongside themes of resilience, community, and creativity.
I sketched early concepts combining vintage microphone imagery (to symbolize voice and storytelling) with radiating sunbursts and water elements. The goal was to create a mark that felt timeless yet energetic—a brand that could grow with the platform as it expanded beyond podcasting.
